I love the genre, and this book is really, really great. The best thing is how they involve real-world characters and countries into the story, but change their history. In addition to the great world-building, the story is also full of action.
Read the 20th anniversary edition that has an introduction by Cory Doctorow, and learned that the two authors wrote the story by exchanging floppy disks via snail mail. It's already hard to imagine such a thing today.
