Pretty lovely but unrealistic Story...

And when he sees Natasha, he loves her. But she's fighting for a chance to stay in America. A relation is the last thing, she currently would like to have
Will their be any chance for the two of them?
"The sun is also a star" is the second book of Nicola Yoon. I enjoyed her debut "Everything, Everything" pretty much, but in my opinion this one cannot build on the succes of the first.
Like in "Everything, everything" I really enjoyed Nicola Yoons language, it's not "typical" English. I think, it is because of her Jamaican background, that she knows/uses some more unnusual words? (i've never known before, that words like "Lust" and "quasi" also exists in English [that are not the best examples for the language, but the one, i've still in mind :D])
Besides that, I likes, how the author lets the universum speak, and how it explains some cultural differences. I think, that she have experienced some of them on her own...
The point I would like to critizise most, is the "speed" of the whole story. Tasha and Daniel meet each other in the morning, and a few hours later they have their first kiss? I know, Tascha's time is marching on, but in my opinion, there were to much things for only one day.
Natasha and Daniel are characters with an interesting background and I liked the short storys of their family and life. But especially Daniel is drawn too poetical, he's a dreamer, but he is cute^^
Natasha is completely different from him, and I couldn't really identify with her.
Another point, I don't really like, is the changing of perspectives. Most chapters are just 1-2 sites long, thats to short in my opinion, sometimes I would have liked to read some more from one person. There are also some chapters of people out of the main story (they have something to do with it too, but more besides it), I would like to tear out of the book :D They sometimes really disturbed my reading "flow".
All in all, I really liked the plot pretty much, but the implementation is not mine. Too much chliches, too much love.
