Sweet summer romance

The Summer after you and me is a cute romance set at the Jersey shores. I did enjoy the book but there was something missing.
I did like the setting at the coast and the little town still struggling with the destruction of Hurricane Sandy. It was interesting having a real even put into this story. There are also flashbacks to the events before the Hurricane hit but the Hurricane itself is not the centre of the story.
Lucy was an interesting character, I especially liked her passion about marine biology because I also wanted to be a marine biologist in my early teens and still have a big fascination for the ocean. Still she was getting on my nerves sometimes when she was reacting way over the top.
Connor was a sweet guy but I think he remained a bit shallow and I couldn't really grab his personality.
The romance is sweet with a summery touch to it but the final spark was missing. The writing style is easy and fast-paced.
