I must admit that even though I really enjoyed reading this book, I had some problems deciding how to rate it. It is entertaining, thrilling and captivating, well-written and has wonderful characters but - and that is a huge "but" in my romance-seeking heart- sometimes I thought that it was a bit too much of bad luck and, well, it probably reflects the times rather too well because those times were harsh and life wasn't predictable, especially when you were born out of wedlock and lived on...
