Die Protagonisten sind die Teenager Aristotle, genannt Ari, und Dante. Beide sind mexikanisch-stämmig und lernen sich am Pool kennen. Denn Ari kann nicht schwimmen, aber Dante bietet ihm an, es ihm beizubringen. Obwohl sie sich vorher nie begegnet sind. Und so entwickelt sich eine wunderbare Freundschaft, die aber irgendwie auch mehr ist.
