I know a lot of people liked this book and the series but... i just can't. Is this a cultur thing? Is it because I'm europeenne?
Let's start with the biggest problem in this book:
We have a boy and a girl and apparently it is the biggest Love ever. Yeah bigger than Twilight! Noone loved so much than Lake Will and Will Lake.
ok we got that. THAT is not the problem. So now, they're a couple and everyone is happy. Lake's Mom loves Will! He is such a perfect wonderful man. There should be no problem at all. Now we come to MY problem about it all. They 're together for 1 year now, she is 19! an he is 23 years old and they are together for ONE YEAR! And you know what? No sex. Why? Because Mom made her 18(!) year old girl promise to not have sex with her perfect boyfriend she is most likely going to marry.
I don't mind them not having sex. I mind the reason. WHY would a mother forbid her daughter to have sex with a boy both women like?
IF the mother would hate Will, would think he'd be a dumbass and not good enough and would be like "know what Darling? If he really is the one for you, why not wait a year? Till he proved himself to you?" (till then they may break up and she sees that her boyfriend is a dumbass)
secondly:
What was my problem? The set up in this scene:
Kel and Caulden, two 11 year old boys, got a super cool brand new game for the xbox and an evening free to play it. So the boys go up to Cauldens room to start the new supercool game! I don't know about you, but I have a little brother and when he is getting started with a new game you don't see him for at least 4 hours till he is hungry. I think that is perfectly normal. Starting a new book is alike, isn't it? You don't install yourself for 10 pages?! Well I don't.
So the boys are in the room, and Will and Lake decide that they could use the freetime together, alone, in Lakes house, across the street. In Lakes room, they start making out, getting to base 2. If we are generous we'll say they had 30 minutes. You know what happens then? RIGHT: The boys coming over and knocking on the door. Why? You never get a reason... Do you see my problem? There could have been anyone at the door and I wouldn't mind. A neightboor, Eddie, a prank from other kids, even the milkman for all I care! But no, it had to be the brothers wanting nothing. Honestly? If you do not have an idea how to stop sexytime, don't bring it up.
and also:
Do you remember Will from Slammed? Well he is gone, along with Lake and Eddie and Calvin. I forgot while reading that this book was a sequel to this awesome book named Slammed. I forgot because the Writer seemed to have too. This a strangestory with figures with the same name and new habbits.
Will is behaving like a 14 year old girl most of the times and Lake is... I don't know. A girl on permament period mode?
and sadly this:
They claime to love each other. Bigger than Twilight-love, remember?
Well as soon as Lake sees Will hugging another girl she goes SheHulk.I don't know about you out there but if I love someone as much as Lake claims to love Will I do not go SheHulk because he hugs someone. How about trust? How about " I do not need to worry because he loves me and I know him for over a year and we are in love." No, he hugs a girl, ok his ex, and there may even be a kiss ON THE FOREHEAD, but still... and she is like "HE MUST BE CHEATING", and then later "He couldn't possible love me, his exgirlfrind said it he is just pitying me." Yeah thats real love... and no Will I don't want to hear your explanation about this situation, I rather suffer, becoz nothing you say will get me into believing that you love me after all I've seen!
