The horror continues...this time, Wyatt and his friends have to face an army of mummies and an alien substance devouring human blood.

The beginning was a bit slow, however I liked the way the first Monsterland book was explained in several small references, making it easy to catch up on previous events. That way, you don't necessarily have to know the other book, but I would strongly recommend to read it first. To me, it was very helpful to freshen up my buried memories.

The book is told from the POV of Wyatt, therefore it sounds and looks like a story told by a teenager, which is fun at times, a bit strenuous at others. After all, teens have other priorities (like young love), even when in danger... that was a part I found too conveniently built: how Wyatt realized his old crush was just that, another girl was already waiting for him, and his old flame switched to his friend, so that all three of the boys ended up with a girlfriend. Just too much romance going on for my liking.

However, there was enough action to keep me reading and enjoying this crazy piece. I loved that new monsters where introduced in this book, so that now we have almost every type covered. But, of course, there would still room for another sequel and the ending also makes it possible.

Summarily, I'd say this was a worthy follow up which shows that monsters still rock.

(I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review)
