Looooooved this book <3

It´s one of my favorites this year. It made me smile, grin, laugh, swoon, ...happy. <3

Can I be Charly please? I want her life and her man ;) I´m already a fashion-designer so I just need the rest to come true (my family background has to be different, though :P ) ;)

This book is about love, trust, honesty, taking chances, keeping secrets and the good and bad sides of the Hollywood life. It´s also about showing your true colors, being yourself, opening up and learning not to care about what others think.

The main characters are Charly, a graduated fashion designer who works as a wardrobe assistant and Vaughn, a famous, sexy, talented and loved actor.

When Charly gets the opportunity to work as a wardrobe assistant for a huge movie with a well known director and also with Vaugh, the hollywood star she always had a crush on, she had to take this chance. But the first day at her job didn´t go as planned. A physical attack, a little blood and a mad Vaugh - all caused by her (not on purpose)- had her fearing for her job. But instead of firing her, Vaugh seems to rather tease, annoy and make fun of her. Oh- and he´s also good at screaming and shouting at her.

After Vaughn was betrayed by one of the most important persons in his life, he became somone he never wanted to be- a celebrity who is nonstop in the news for drinking, partying and having sex with different women. But when he was offered the lead role for a movie with one of the most talented directors and when his manager tries to clear his head, Vaugh realized he has to become himself again. The man he used to be. But according to his manager, he has to follow some rules. And that means to stay low, no sex with different woman, no drama, no newsworthy headlines. And at first it seemed to be an easy task. But he quickly realizes that it isn´t. As soon as he had a first look at Charly, his new, sexy, feisty, cute, funny and beautiful wardrobe assistant, he knows he´s in trouble. Wanting her but not be able to have her turns him into an asshole. He tries to push her buttons but the more he does, the more he enjoys it...and her. Pushing her away and not giving in seems to get harder and harder...

Can two people from two different worlds be together? Will Vaughn be able to resist Charly? Will he be able to ever trust a person again? Will he show his true self? Will Charly be able to finish this job without getting fired? Will she be able to fulfill her dream of working as a fashion designer? Will they fall in love and be able to hide their relationship from the public and the paparazzi? Could Charlys past have a negative impact on Vaughns career? What happenes when Vaughn finds out about Charlys secret? And what happenes when Vaughns ex shows up in his trailer with the intention of getting him back?

Find the answers in the book ;)

My Opinion:

I know I already said it but I loved this book. It was almost perfect.

I still love Samantha Towles writing style. This book was full of likeable and loveable characters. I could connect to everyone. I not only fell in love with Vaughn and Charly, but also with his grandma and Jester.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I think I haven´t read a book in while that made me smile, grin and laugh throughout the whole book. Almost from beginning till end. I couldn´t put the book down and read it till 4 am.

Even though I am a fashion designer and loved the theme and could understand and imagine everything related to fashion, sewing and the business in general, I never heard of the job Wardrobe assistant. Maybe it´s a US thing. Here in Germany you´d call ppl who work in theatres, musicals, etc. and with costumes, costume designer or dresser. But as I said- it might be a US term I just never heard of.

I loved Charlys and Vaughns banter, their teasing, how they annoyed each other, how they communicated and connected to each other. I loved their chemisty and loved how he cared and wanted to take care of her. How they got closer and closer and how he trusted her without letting the betrayal affect their relationship. They´re perfect for one another. I also liked how they had their tics and nicknames and that there still were things that made them "real" and "human". They had misunderstandings and not always communicated as they should have but they were still at the beginning of their relationship. Sometimes it just takes a while until you can open up to someone completely and trust them with your secrets. So I get why it wasn´t easy for Charly to tell Vaughn about her secret, especially because it could have gotten her into jail.

I loved how they first met. The scene with the pin- so, so, soooo funny :D

The thing with Nick, the secret... Well it was disappointing. Thought her secret would be much worse. Sth. shocking. Sth. I wouldnt expect. But..well... It´s ok.

I was a bit confused about Vaughns age. I could swear I read somewhere at the beginning that he´s in his early 30th and wants to have a wife and a family. And then later in the book he was 29...Not sure if I read it wrong but I imagined a 30something the whole time :/

I wasn´t happy with the end. I wanted the final scene to be with Vaughn and how he meets and sees Elijah for the first time. I also want the in between. What happened in those 4 years? And I want to read about them with Elijah. The first days and years. I need another book with this couple. To read a bit about the backgroundstory of Charlys parents would be nice too.

Also... What happened to Vaughns Ex? Hadn´t she threatened him? I´d have thought she would try something. And what is with Cain? There was no mention of him anymore. I´d have thought he would have fought for his friendship and tried to explain everything. And what is with Ava? Is she still with her boyfriend? Thought she could start sth with this one friend of Vaughn ;)

Well. Except for those few points there isn´t much I can complain about. Not that those are really complains. They are more like wishes and open questions I need the answer to ;)
Therefore, as I already said- I need another book with and about this couple and all the answers ;) :D

Sooooo.....If you need a funny and heartwarming book- this one might be the one for you :) I can def. recommend it :D
