This book should be read after The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion, espiacially after The Silmarillion.

This book can be read as an epic about Tùrin Turambour and his sister Nienor Níniel, children of the human Húrin and Morwen.

Húrin first appears in the Silmarillion and he takes Lordship of his people and their fief of Dor-lómin in Hithlum.

Húrin was captured during the war agsinst Morgoth and his children grown up without him.

It is really a kind of heroic epic scenario where the end is sad.

It was finished by Christopher Tolkien after his father died.
