„I Capture the Castle“ wurde mir für Fans von Jane Austen empfohlen und zum Teil kann ich diesem Vergleich zustimmen. Sowohl Jane Austen als auch Dodie Smith (zumindest in diesem Roman) legen vor allem Wert auf die Charakterisierung ihrer Figuren, deren Entwicklung und Beziehungen untereinander, auch, wenn das bedeutet, dass die Handlung dabei eher gemächlich vor sich hinplätschert.
Dadurch, dass das Buch als Cassandras Tagebuch geschrieben ist, enthält es zu großen Teilen...
