"Nothing speaks louder than your heart. Listen to what it's telling you."

Beauty From Pain book 1 in the Beauty series introduces us to Jack Henry aka Lachlan and Laurelyn aka Paige as they embark on a three-month anonymous, no questions asked, strictly sexual affair.

Laurelyn and her best friend Addison are in Australia for three months visiting Addison's brother, Ben. Laurelyn has her own personal reasons for making the trip and she is welcoming the change of scenery. Australia is about as far as one can go from the heart-break she experienced in Nashville. On her first night out in Wagga Wagga, Laurelyn meets a sexy mysterious man who leaves her heart thumping and her mind consumed.

Jack McLachlan is a vineyard magnate who has decided to lead a private life due to his wealth and public profile. He prefers short-term, no-strings-attached relationships where both parties are aware of what they are getting into. He was looking for the right woman to share his bed for no longer than 3 months. A no-strings attached companionship at the end of which both parties would walk away. The moment he sees Laurelyn, he knew she was it.

When the two finally get together, after a lot of “sneaky” manipulation on Jack’s part,, he proposes that they have a 3 month relationship with no strings attached. The impending three-month date, marking the ending to their affair serves as a constant reminder making them both careless and desperate. Spending time together makes it more and more difficult to follow through in the rules of the games. Will they be able to sort out their feelings before Laurelyn is scheduled to return home to the US?

Spellbinding story-telling! An all-consuming romance! Scorching hot sex scenes! Well developed and charismatic characters! I very much enjoyed Jack Henry’s and Laurelyn’s journey. Beauty from Pain surprised me in the best way! I didn’t have many expectations for this book, but I really loved it! The story was fantastic, the characters were great, and it had some sexy scenes. It was just overall an awesome read.
