"The only thing I’m sure of is that I’ve waited entirely too damn long to have you."

This is the first book in the Breathless trilogy from Maya Banks. The trilogy is about three rich, powerful best friends, all in their late thirties Gabe, Jace, and Ash. Rush is Gabe Hamilton's story. Gabe is a wealthy real estate mogul/hotelier; a partner in HCM Global Resorts and Hotels.

Gabe Hamilton is a man who has a tough rule. It life taught him that, failed marriage and divorce of parents. Everything had to influence how now he refers his relationship with women. His soft side has always been a younger sister's best friend, Mia. But he never let himself be tempted, he kept his distance, although with age becoming more and more attracted to her.

Mia Crestwell has always been in love with her brother's best friend. Never in her wildest dreams did she think, that these feelings might be mutual. One evening Gabe decided to take a chance and invited Mia to his office. He gave her a job, which not only included her duties at work. Also, those in his bed. They have created an unconventional relationship confirmed by contract, and they kept it a secret.

Gabe comes across as cold and distant at first and I wasn’t particularly impressed with him as a hero. I am glad that I didn’t give up on him, though. He redeemed himself in the end and started showing his true self. I only wish I had had that chance earlier in the book.

Call me cliché, but I am a sucker for billionaire guys falling for a much younger girls...when it's done right of course. And this book delivers.  Sure the book has some slow, drawn-out moments, especially when it comes to the sexual escapades, but overall, it's a page-turner.

I don't really have anything bad to say about this one, it wasn't original or wow in the story or the idea, but it was for sure hot and fun to read. I'm really very excited about reading the next two.
