"ALWAYS MINE. FOREVER YOURS."

The Crossfire series is about mogul and CEO Gideon Cross and recent graduate and ad agency assistant Eva Tramell’s epic love story. It follows them through sky-high ups and rock-bottom lows as their relationship is tested with demons from their pasts, envy, jealousy, secrets and lies. But their biggest obstacles will always come from within.

We have watched Gideon and Eva’s blooming relationship survive countless trials and tribulations in a relatively short time span, their respective pasts relentlessly trying to pull them apart and diminish all they’ve found in each other. But while each hurdle they overcame has only brought them closer to one another and strengthened the unique bond between them, it has also made them increasingly aware of each other’s needs and all the difficulties still lying ahead of them. We have seen them both come to terms with being abuse survivors, with the aftereffects of those traumas and all the ways they shaped the people they’ve become, but learning together how to have a functional, healthy relationship still remains their greatest challenge.

As for this book? Well, I'm not sure what to think. There were aspect that I absolutely loved (LUCKY, THE PUPPY), other parts that I really enjoyed, and a few parts that bored me. Then there was the subplot that came out of nowhere and had me questioning what series and genre I was reading. The direction the author took the plot toward the end of this book was simply bizarre.

I know many had issues with the ending and the illusive way the author wrapped up some subplots. I don't feel like I got the ending I wanted. And what upset me the most was that there was no actual conclusion to the series! I'm left feeling let down and my story is unfinished. I also wanted a bit more from the epilogue.  I didn't hate it, I question a lot of 'why' did certain things happen, the way this book moved in directions I thought were wrong. I can’t believe I read five books for no answer!
