“I want to feel that again. I want to remember what it feels like to love someone like that. And not just anyone. I want to know what it feels like to love Charlie.”

This is the first book of a series co-written by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher. Colleen wrote the guy's POV, Tarryn wrote the girl's, and the two halves of the story were blended together seamlessly.

This book opens with our two narrators having absolutely no memory of who they are, where they live, who their friends and family are... or how they managed to get in this state. Piecing together clues about their lives and their relationship, it seems like the more they discover the weirder everything gets. Who were they before? How did they lose their memories? Do they even want to find out?

Charlie and Silas are in high school. Apparently they’re popular and they’re boyfriend and girlfriend. They also can’t remember a thing. Not about who they are, who their family and friends are, who each other are. Nothing. Forgetting is scary. Remembering may be as equally terrifying. All they know is that they are in this together. They are connected. They forgot together, now they’ll try to remember together

Romance does come out when Charlie and Silas are trying to figure out the details of their relationship - as well as many skeletons in the closet. It's dark, mysterious, even creepy at times. Probably not for readers who like a clear distinction between the realistic and the supernatural because I'm still not sure which applies here.

But this book left a lot of question unanswered… no, it left ALL the questions unanswered, so I really can’t wait for the next installment.
