"It had come down to a choice – her or the lifestyle. I’d chosen her. I’d choose her every time. I need her more. It’s that simple."

Valorous is the second installment in Quantum series and picks up where book #1, Victorious ends. So this book begins right in the aftermath of the events that ended book one.... with Natalie reeling in shock and Flynn desperately trying to be there and support her in anyway he could.

Valorous has a darker tone than the first one, as the horrors of Natalie’s past are fully revealed, and she has to deal with it in a way she could never have imagined. The scenes are heartbreaking, but the way that Flynn stands by her, along with his friends and family, is absolutely beautiful.

The aspect of the story that I really liked is the way Natalie and Flynn are with each other. Apart from the fact that Flynn still keeps a secret from Natalie, they are honest with each other and I have to say I really enjoyed how they easily they communicate with each other. Their sweet moments together were heart-warming and the teasing and their bickering between them were delightful. Needless to say I never questioned their love, connection or chemistry. They are absolutely perfect for each other.

I’m really enjoying Flynn and Natalie’s story. I felt that this instalment had a bit more depth to it, and I liked it even more than the first. But even with the added drama in this book, it’s still essentially a fluff-fest filled with sensational romance, lots of starry eyed declarations and passionate encounters.

This is escapism. It's fantasy. It's thrilling, heart-racing, belly-fluttering romance and I just loved it. The story ends on yet another cliffy, but it sets up the final installment of the series really well, and I’m excited to see how Flynn and Natalie will deal with this final hurdle between them and their happy ever after.
