Slow and dragging

I usually loved/liked the books by Cecelia Ahern but "The year I met you" has been a huge disappointment for me.

The pace in the book is so slow and almost dragging, there is hardly anything happening. I always waited for something big to happen and I am still waiting after finishing it. I know the book probably is supposed to carry an important message but I still need at least some tension in the storyline.

The characters were kind of weird too and I couldn't connect with...
