It really hurts that I am not able to finish an Armentrout book as did enjoy her Lux series and contemporary romances a lot. But there was something wrong between the book and me right from the beginning.

I was struggling getting into the story and I had problems feeling with the characters. The atmosphere was also really dark, which I don't mind as well as characters struggling with a bad past. Here it just wasn't working for me. Everything was so slow and there was hardly anything happening. It felt like I was reading forever on the 40% of this book.

It definitely isn't the light-hearted and easy writing style by the author that I got used to.
