For Sam alice is the most beautiful, most talented and most lovable girl there is. For Sam Alice is his life. Sadly Sam is Alices imaginary friend and when Alice doesn't need him anymore the life of Sam is over.
Alice grew up in the shadows of her siblings and rejection by her crush. After her fathers wedding and a terrible talk and almost kiss with Jonathan, her crush of forever, she can't wait to get home and get on with her life when a terrible accident happens. And Sams coming back to rescue her.
Although I had my problem keeping up with whats happening ( it's just so much on so few pages) this book knew how to catch my attention. From proplogue on I was a fan of Sam and couldn't read fast enough to get him back in the picture.
When the accident is mentioned I was kinda scared it would be a copy of "fractured" by Dani Atkins
Smithwick has created a novel that almost has it all – love, loss, insanity, families, and cause for the reader to question reality.
I loved her crush on Jonathan and could totally relate why she would fixate on him. He leading her on even thou he has a fiance totally got my angry spot and I wished for her to just get out of her trance and concentrate on something else. Something healthy. I wished for Sam to be real more than anything. I wished for Rory to be not dead. This book got me wishing on a lot while reading.
