Laurent and Damen are on their way to the border. Laurent has to prove his worth as the next king of Vere. But it is a trap. Laurents uncle, the Regent of Vere, wants Laurent's death. And than a war against Akilios.
Damen has to prevent this. His country would not survive an attack. So he has to protect the man that tried to kill him.
His feelings for Laurent were clear for him. Absolute hate. But after a,while and the more he learns about him, the hate starts to vanish and something new blossoms.
But it is impossible. After all Damen has the person who killed Laurent's beloved brother.
The second installment of the "Captive Prince" trilogy was as impressive as the first one. The world building is impressive, the language and writing style beautiful and the twists in the story and the atmosphere breathtaking.
You can feel the sexual tension between Damen & Laurent and understand how their feelings from a physical attraction to real feelings for each other evolve.
I can't wait to read the final and at the same time I am sad to see this brilliant written series end.
