I have been very excited to read this book. Now I am sitting here, book closed and I have no idea what it wanted to tell me. The book was nothing what I expected.
The idea to make up a story about water shortage and the fights over it, sounded like an amazing premise. Unfortunately the story itself is far from amazing. For 3/4 of the book the biggest action is shooting some coyotes and going for a hunt. The end holds some surprises but this couldn't save the book for me. Most was just boring and felt absolutely unimportant.
The characters felt distant and I hardly cared for any of them. Lynn is an absolutely weird person. Though she grew up in strange circumstances, I can't understand her at all. I also don't understand what made her mother raise her like this.
The writing style is kind of strange too. The characters speak with grammatical errors.
Still it was a very quick read. I am not sure if I am interested enough to read the second part.
