The Book of You by Claire Kendal, a debut psychological thriller of obsession, and a disturbing portrait of a sadistic stalker who believes himself to be in love, and a victim trying desperately to escape.

Clarissa has gained a rather nasty stalker named Rafe. She truly fears for her life as he becomes more insistent and possessive in his pursuit of her. While trying to hide from Rafe, she is on a seven week jury duty were a woman was allegedly brutalized by a group of men. There is also a romance between Clarissa and a fellow juror, Robert, that figures into the story and further infuriates the stalker, but and at the end, it remains unresolved. The whole ending is unsatisfying.

The Book of You is frightening in that I think it realistically portrays what someone who is being stalked goes through. Claire Kendal has done a decent job of trying to get into the mind of someone being stalked and the creep is very creepy!

If you like psychological suspense stories this is a decent debut from the author. A good psychological thriller and I was absorbed as the story unfolded BUT the ending was a major let down! The build up did not equal the outcome. It felt phony and I was left discouraged. There was no closure. Plus, this is not one book that will give you much faith in the judicial system.
