This is another Colleen Hoover book that leaves me with mixed feelings.
The story of "Ugly love" is quite simple, maybe too simple in parts as there is not much happening. The characters were another major problem for me. I just couldn't connect with Tate and Miles. I didn't feel any chemistry, no flying sparks, nothing. I kind of didn't care for them at all.
When Miles big secret is revealed I normally should have cried my eyes out. But I didn't cry one single tear. Not one and I am one teary mess, ususally. One reason is the missing connection to the character and the other is the weird writing style of the Miles chapter. It absolutely killed the feelings for me. It just couldn't get into me. It felt absolutely distant.
Still, I won't give up reading Colleen Hoover's books as I still kind of enjoy them, even if they don't wrench my heart anymore.
