I have been pushing the book away for a while because it is set in a time which is not one of my faves in historical fiction. Now I have been on a weeks vacation and took this book with me. I did like it but wasnt overwhelmed as I was with The pillars of the earth. Found it too political and couldnt really connect with the characters.
